Take Back Our Country Song

Hi,

Can you please place a link on your website / or blog; to this Take Back Our Country Song it’s a patriotic song that is very inspiring, and truthful. I wrote this song after being fed up with what I see happening in my neighborhood and to our country daily on the news.

I am just an ordinary citizen that went away to serve at age 19. And I am sick and tired of the lies and chaos our ELECTED SELLOUT OFFICIALS has put this country into. So I wanted to do my part, as a soldier of the USANG, I wrote this song and put it on this video.

My state Louisiana was hit hard by hurricane Katrina and hundreds of illegal aliens moved into our community took away jobs that we Americans were ready to do, and now crime has gone thru the roof. I am sick and tired of these people in my neighborhood and hanging out on our street corners. WE MUST DO SOMETHING TO PUT A STOP TO THIS!

Please check out my video Take Back Our Country Song on YouTube.com here’s the link. And FORWARD it to everyone on your email list. This is my way of fighting back and giving back to my country.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yl6Ol64aGMY

Please, I served my country in the US Army National Guards, and I hate what’s happening to our country. We must do all we can to Take Her Back!

Thank you,
Richie Collins

Actually, I use only older medications or info from sources not supported by the drug companies ("The Medical Letter" for instance) though I do admit many of my collegues do (additionally I would add that I have not accepted a single gift from the pharmacuetical industry, not a pen nothing). The ICU is a very different setting, this is a "last chance, try anything" setting, in this case it is not bias, in fact most of the icu doctors i know would admit to not knowing if something is going to work (bias would be assuming that is was going to work) they try it because of the atmoshpere in which you practice (god bless you bu the way for working in such an atmospher, I have worked in three, tough place emotionally). But there are objective ways to look at statistics, the article quoted above is not one of them. This is where "evidence based medicine" arises from, when something is scientifically proven, it will repeat itself in study after study after study. I personally get my info from neutral soucees whenever possible so that I may be certain (as certain as possible) in my assertions. i.e. the World Health Organization does not have an axe to grind, so why would they report year after year that we have a higher IM rate and shorter life span, then suddenly one small college study done by a non health professional says something different? true science repeats itself

True, he probably does have an "extreme bias". Do we not also have an "extreme bias" when we find/use data to support our own positions? Who, when arguing for their own position/belief doesn't have an extreme bias? Also, does having a bias make the numbers inaccurate? Do you, as a physician, not prescribe medications based upon clinical trial results showing their effectiveness treating certain conditions even though the clinical trials were carried out by the drug manufacturer themselves? Is there not an "extreme bias" in the reporting of the results of the clinical trials? Yet, we in the medical community rely on those very same results as a large part of our practice. Although, since I work in a pediatric ICU, I probably use more medications "off-label" than I even care to realize.

I am sorry to see that you gather your "health care" data from an economist (who likely knows little about actual health care) who publishes in popular journalistic media. When published in this type of media the publication often reprsents a political bias. Seems transparent being that he is part of a particular candidates team, why would he publish anything that does not support his current stance? In science we call this "EXTREME BIAS"

I know exactly what you're saying as we are now in Phoenix. Not sure how much of my blog you've read, but I am a traveler. As a nurse, I know you know what this means. However, I will say this after having spent the summer in Washington, DC. I do not know the proportion legal vs illegal in either place, but I see much less of the "entitlement" attitude here than in DC. I know I am guilty of racial profiling here, but I do so only to make a point. The hispanic population in DC very much has the entitlement attitude. The whole attitude of "it is my right to get these benefits". While here on Phoenix, much closer to the Mexican border, I find much more of a good old-fashioned work ethic. They seem much more willing to "get ahead" though hard work. Don't know if it is the same in CA or not. Just my own very unscientific observations.

Hi Martygrn,

I hear ya! I was once driving in LA when I saw this bumper sticker... "Work harder, welfare is depending on you!". I know what you're saying about those who "sit on their ass and do drugs" while you work. I see that a lot down here especially in cities close to the Mexican border. What's sad is that we are giving healthcare for "free" to those who don't even contribute to the system. And to add insult to injury, these are the ones who are the most demanding patients. I guess it is more blessed to give than to receive, but I think we have to start with those from within that need it the most.
